2 subdivisions in Bacoor, Cavite under granular lockdown due to Delta variant cases


Bacoor, Cavite Mayor Lani Mercado-Revilla has ordered the lockdown of two subdivisions on Friday after receiving information that there are two confirmed COVID-19 cases of the Delta variant, Luisito Santos reported for Super Radyo's DZBB.

In Executive Order No. 25, Mercado-Revilla said the "immediate total lockdown of the residential origin of the two cases is mainly for purposes immediate containment and response in consideration of the fact that delta variant is highly transmissible."

She said the city government was informed by the Department of Health of the presence of the Delta variant cases.

In light of the information, the City Health Office shall conduct contact tracing for three days and close contact will be transferred to a city isolation facility.

The directives of the mayor include a strict home stay order on all residents of the villages, the police is to establish a checkpoint to maintain perimeter control while a commercial store has been temporarily closed.

The City Welfare Office and the General Services Office will be providing relief assistance to all the households affected by the lockdown.

The City Task Force Against COVID-19 is set to convene on Monday to discuss further steps in the containment of the virus. -- BAP, GMA News
