Mother chokes baby to death, stuffs remains in a cabinet

A newborn baby was found dead last week after the mother allegedly choked the infant to death and stuffed the remains in a cabinet, according to John Sala’s report on “24 Oras.”

The Roxas City Police said the employer of 21-year-old “Lin” had long suspected that she was pregnant. Lin, who was working as a caregiver in Capiz, denied this.

Lin’s employer brought her to a clinic for a pregnancy test on September 17, and it was confirmed that she was pregnant.

To the employer and the doctor’s surprise, the baby was no longer in Lin’s womb when she later had an ultrasound exam. They found that she had given birth before going to the clinic.

On the same day, other housekeepers found the dead baby in a cabinet.

(One of the housekeepers found the baby in an eco bag inside a cabinet.)

The remains underwent a post-mortem examination. It was found that the baby died after being strangled.

(In a desperate attempt to keep the child hidden because it was crying, she tried to stop the cries and the baby ended up being strangled.)

Lin denied killing her child. She said the baby was born dead.

She is currently in hospital arrest and faces charges of infanticide. — DVM, GMA News
