PCG: 15 passengers, 5 vessels stranded in Palawan due to Lannie

The Philippine Coast Guard reported on Tuesday that at least 15 passengers and five vessels were stranded in Palawan due to Tropical Depression Lannie.

Among those stranded in Palawan as of 12 p.m. on Tuesday were drivers and cargo helpers.

According to its maritime advisory, aside from the five stranded vessels, two vessels were forced to take shelter as a precautionary measure against the threat of the tropical depression.

Meanwhile, all tropical cyclone wind signals have been lifted even though the tropical depression maintained its strength while moving west-northwest over the West Philippine Sea late Tuesday morning.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Lannie was likely to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday afternoon or evening. — DVM, GMA News
