Gun sellers online take cash or drugs as payment

Two individuals in San Narciso, Zambales were arrested for selling guns online in exchange for cash or illegal drugs.

According to Marisol Abdurahman's report on "24 Oras" on Wednesday, the suspects, identified as John Paco and Elmer Gwardyano, were arrested on Tuesday by the Zambales police in a buy-bust operation in Barangay San Juan.

Seized from the suspects were a caliber .45 pistol, ammunition, magazine, cellphones, and boodle money.

"Based on the revelation of the suspect, mayroon lang sa kanyang nag-uutos na ibenta itong mga baril na ito. Actually, hindi ito yung first time niya na pagbebenta pero nakarami na raw siya ng naibenta. Siya ay binibigyan ng komisyon at hindi niya alam kung saan ito nanggagaling," said Police Colonel Romano Cardiño, chief of the Zambales police.

(Based on the revelation of the suspect, someone was giving him instructions to sell the guns. Actually, this is not the first time that this kind of transaction took place. He received commissions but he did not know where the money came from.)

Cardiño said the suspects’ clients were usually from Subic, Castillejos, and San Narciso towns.

The suspects are currently under police custody while charges were being readied against them.  — Ma. Angelica Garcia/VBL, GMA News
