P1.6 billion worth of shabu seized, 2 suspects nabbed in Cavite

Authorities seized P1.656 billion worth of shabu and arrested two drug suspects in a buy-bust operation in Dasmariñas, Cavite.

At least 240 kilos of shabu was seized by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents in the Cavite operation, according to Jon Consulta’s 24 Oras Weekend report on Saturday.

The arrested suspects were identified as Wilfredo Blanco Jr. and Megan Perero.

According to the PDEA, they were only attempting to buy one kilo of shabu from the suspects. But later found that their van contained 240 kilos of shabu.

The authorities said the drugs were destined to be delivered to the Visayas, Mindanao, and CALABARZON.

“Itong accomplishment natin ngayon is a product of a series of intelligence operations nag tototal na yung trabaho natin na more than 11 billion pesos at napakarami na ng droga na nakuha natin more than 1.7 tons na droga,” PDEA Intelligence and Investigation Service (PDEA-IIS) Director Adrian Alvariño said.
