Patutsadahan ng LP at UNA, lalong umiinit habang papalapit ang eleksiyon

Panahon na para magpakatotoo umano ang United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) na nagkukunwaring kaalyado ng administrasyon para makasakay sa papularidad ni Pangulong Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III, ayon sa tagapagsalita ng Liberal Party (LP). “Dapat magpaka-totoo na ang UNA. UNA can’t have the best of both worlds. UNA cannot claim that they are pro-PNoy because they have been very vocal against PNoy's reform agenda," pahayag ni Eastern Samar Rep. Ben Evardone, tagapagsalita ng LP. Dagdag naman ng isa pang tagapagsalita ng LP na si Quezon Rep. Erin Tañada, tama ang ilang obserbasyon na nagdudulot ng kalituhan sa publiko kung sino ang tunay na mga kandidadong senador ng administrasyon dahil sa pagpapakilala ng ibang grupo na sumusuporta rin kay Aquino. “This is the reason why the administration senatorial candidates are called Team PNoy and the other UNA senatorial candidates are not. This is the reason why PNoy (Aquino) himself did the voice-over in introducing the Team PNoy candidates," ayon sa kongresista. Ang pahayag ay ginawa ng dalawang tagapagsalita ng LP bilang suporta sa naunang posisyon ni presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda na nagdudulot ng kalituhan ang ginagawa ng ilang kandidato ng UNA na hindi sila kalaban ng administrasyon. Binatikos nina Zambales Rep. Mitos Magsaysay at San Juan City Rep. JV Ejercito, ang naturang pahayag ni Lacierda na tinawag nilang makitid na pag-iisip sa pagtanggap ng "constructive criticism." “We are presenting ourselves as alternatives to administration ticket. Senate is the people's fiscalizer and pulse and as such, it is better to remain independent than to be a rubberstamp. Nobody has the monopoly on who can say who has the right, who is capable, or who loves the country," ayon kay Ejercito, kandidatong senador ng UNA. Paliwanag naman ni Magsaysay, hindi mapanirang oposisyon ang UNA dahil susuportahan nito ang mga programa ng pamahalaan na makatutulong sa publiko. "If the policy and programs of the administration are effective and beneficial to the people, we will support them one hundred percent. But if we see that there are issues, policies and programs that need to be corrected, addressed and done away with because they don’t serve the interests of the people, we will definitely speak out," dagdag ng kongresista na kasama rin sa senatorial slate ng UNA. - RP/FRJ, GMA News
