Worldwide coronavirus cases reach 29.39 million, death toll at 928,669

More than 29.39 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 928,669 have died, according to a Reuters tally.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The US still has the most number of coronavirus cases at 6,572,009 and 194,594 deaths.

It was followed by:

• India: 4,930,236 cases and 80,776 deaths
• Brazil: 4,345,610 cases and 132,006 deaths
• Russia: 1,068,320 cases and 18,635 deaths
• Peru: 733,860 cases and 30,812 deaths

The Philippines has recorded 269,407 cases of COVID-19 and 4,663 deaths as of Tuesday afternoon. —Reuters/KG, GMA News
