Worldwide coronavirus cases cross 54.55M, death toll at 1,319,855 —Reuters tally

More than 54.55 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,319,855 have died, according to a Reuters tally.
   
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The US leads with 11,056,897 cases and 246,208 deaths.

It was followed by:
India: 8,845,127 cases and 130,070 deaths

• Brazil: 5,848,959 cases and 165,658 deaths
• France: 1,981,827 cases and 44,548 deaths
• Russia: 1,925,825 cases and 33,186 deaths

The Philippines is 26th on the list with 409,574 cases and 7,839 deaths. —Reuters
