Top 10 Yummiest Restaurants in Quezon


In “Ang Pinaka’s” 12th yummy episode, the Anak TV awardee program headed to Quezon and took a grand tour of the different homegrown restaurants around the province.

Together with guest komentarista YouTube sensation Donnalyn Bartolome, host Rovilson Fernandez scoured Quezon in search of the hottest dining spots.

10. Bulwagang Salakot

Bulwagang Salakot started as a carinderia in the 1960s until it grew into a full-blown restaurant in the 80’s. Bulwagang Salakot has since then become a popular food stop for those journeying to Bicol.

Bestsellers from Bulwagang Salakot’s menu are: sizzling blue marlin (P280), nilasing na hipon (P110), Rosarian special sandwich (P110), Salakot rice (P95), chichanoy (P110), bibingka (P30), and ginanga.

9. Buddy’s Pancit Lucban

The original Buddy’s Pancit Lucban was established in Quezon in 1991. The restaurant has since then expanded to 11 branches in Metro Manila and all over Quezon province.

The signature dish of Buddy’s is, of course, pancit Lucban (P165). Other must-trys include their longganisang Lucban (P125/dozen), lumpia mixed vegetables (P65), and hardinera (P220).

Aside from their pizza offerings, Ground Zero also serves local dishes such as fresh lumpiang ubod (P99), longganisang Lucban (P142), pancit Lucban (P144), beef bulalo (P250), and sinigang tuna belly (P280).

7. Mug Cafe

6. Memphis Garden Cafe and Grille

Memphis Garden Cafe and Grille is a popular bake shop located inside Graceland Estates and Country Clun, a 22-hectare eco-tourism spot in Tayabas owned by an Elvis Presley fan.

Memphis Garden Cafe and Grille is famous for their pandelitos (P40/12 pieces), pan de buko (P25/piece), and raisin cinnamon bread (P50).

If you’re going for heavy meals, make sure to try their crispy binagoongang baboy (P239), pakbet with bagnet (P239), sinigang na hipon sa buko (P319), binangeng manok (P189), and paella marinara (P849).

5. JIJF Lutong Bahay ni Inay

JIJF Lutong Bahay ni Inay has been serving Candelaria, Quezon with traditional local fare for 18 years. Locals and tourists alike flock the restaurant for its signature crispy pata (P395) and other good old lutong-bahay meals such as sinigang na hipon (P300), kare-kare (P350), buko pandan (P60), and ensaladang mangga (P150).

4. Cafe San Luis

More than their variety of brewed coffee and espresso, Cafe San Luis is also famous for their experimental concoctions such as frozen margarita in lambanog base (P80) and chilled lambanog (P60 / P80 / P180).

For heavy meals, must-trys include their chicken curry with French bread (P225), tokwa’t baboy (P190), ang binagoongan (P200).

3. Kinabuhayan Cafe

Movie production designer and self-taught chef Jay Herrera opened Kinabuhayan Cafe Bed and Breakfast in 2003 where he serves guests with surprise menus.

"I would like to think that all my dishes are special. I have no set menu. I decided what to feed you. You have no choice!” he said.  

A set meal in Kinabuhayan Cafe costs P750. During “Ang Pinaka’s” visit, Herrera served risotto al funghi, rolled lasagna, salad, and chicken finger with osso buco pasta.

Be in for a surprise at Kinabuhayan Cafe Bed and Breakfast, located at 118 Dejarme St., Brgy. Bayanihan, Dolores, Quezon.

2. Silangang Nayon Park and Restaurant

Silangang Nayon Park and Restaurant opened in 2003 with only one cottage by the sea. Customers soon flocked the restaurant, prompting them to add more cottages and accommodations.

The restaurant specializes in Filipino and Chinese seafood dishes. Bestsellers from their menu include lapu-lapu (P110/100 grams), capiz (P175-M, P350-L), seafood cream soup (P300), ostrich (P370-M, P550-L), spareribs (P175-M, P350-L), and crab szechuan (P90/100 grams).

1. Catalino’s Restaurant

Catalino’s Restaurants offers Filipino cuisine that is sure to satisfy your lutong-bahay cravings. Crowd favorites from Catalino’s are their Pako salad (P135), bulanglang buko sa ulang (P220),  chami (P125), kare-kare (P360), laing (P95), and pork binagoongan (P210).
