A lot has been said about the inappropriateness of the word war between former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile and Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago. Some say this battle of seasoned politicians is a waste of public funds, legislative productivity and media airtime. Senator Serge Osmena even filed a resolution to strike out from the Senate records the accusations hurled by the opposing camps. Senator Santiago, meanwhile, has officially requested a formal investigation on the pronouncements she’s made against Enrile.
