'Biyahe ni Drew' goes to Samal Island!

Lilibutin ni Drew Arellano ang hidden treasures ng Samal Island sa Biyahe ni Drew ngayong Biyernes!

Island-hopping agad! Sa Talikod Island, Isla Reta, Dayang Beach at Babu Santa Beach  ang mga unang stopover ni Drew.  Perfect ang mga ito for rest and relaxation. Puwede ka ring magrenta ng cottages kung may oras ka.  Sa Kaputian naman, didiretso siya sa Sabang Cliff para mag-cliff-diving. At sa Monfort Bat Cave, mamamangha siya sa mga Geofrrey’s Rousette fruit bats na kinilalang pinakamalaking colony sa buong mundo nong 2010.

Sa Barangay Tagbaobo, susubukan ni Drew na magtanim ng palay tulad  ng mga local. Siyempre makikipag-bonding din siya sa mga local bilang bahagi ng community-based ecotourism package ng local tourism office. Pero for a bit of culture, bibisitahin niya ang Moncado White House kung saan unang nanirahan ang grupo ni Hilario Camino Moncado, isang kilalang religious group, noong 1930s.

For a convenient dining experience, susubukan ni Drew ang “text me-luto ko” style ng Aznebo Restaurant para nakahanda na ang masasarap na putahe ahead of time. Sa Lamas Restaurant, Samal dishes naman ang nasa menu. Nariyan ang law-uy o vegetable soup, pak fry o piniritong paksiw na buntot ng tuna, at ilang classic Pinoy dishes tulad ng humba at mechado. For merienda, titikman ni Drewa ang dodo o version nila ng maha blanca. At bilang panghimagas, hihigop si Drew ng mainit at malinamnam na panyam o native coffee na gawa sa giniling na bigas.

At ang highlight ng biyaheng ito? Makikilala ni Drew ang world record holder ng free diving na si Guillame Nery. Anu-anong tips kaya ang ibibigay ni Guillame sa isang aspiring free diver tulad ni Drew?
