School’s out and summer is here. While the kids take a break from textbooks, keep them busy by enrolling them in summer workshops and classes that are not only fun but will also help them develop their talents and make new friends.

Manila Downtown YMCA Basketball Clinic

The Manila Downtown YMCA holds two basketball clinics for kids:

Gandiva Café and Archery Range
Where: Unit 703-705 Once Corporate Center, Julia Vargas corner Meralco Avenue, Ortigas Center, Pasig City

A walk-in package costs P980 per hour. A membership package costs P2,000, and a module of their basic archery program costs P12,000.

The Gandiva Café and Archery Range conducts classes to enhance children’s skills in archery. The program caters to kids 6 years old and above.

Trumpets Playshop’s Summer Course on Vocal Performance by The Company
Where: The Podium

Trumpets Playshop and Musicademy holds a summer course on vocal performance conducted by no less than our country’s premiere singing group, The Company.  The workshop schedule is MWF, 6:45 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. The course costs P7,650.
 
 
Make Believe Productions Stage Lights: Theater for Children
Where: Child Matters Preschool 67 Main Horseshoe Drive, Horseshoe Village, QC
 
Stage Lights by Make Believe Productions holds a theater workshop for children age 3 years old and up. The schedule of classes are as follows:

April 1 to May 15: Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
May 19 to May 23: Monday, Wednesday, Friday,  9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Creative Kitchen for Kids

The Maya Kitchen brings out the iron chef in every child by conducting single-session classes in May.
 
May 2: Food, Arts and Crafts – sugar cookies with royal icing, making pancake art
May 16: Dough, Re, Mi – pretzels and other wonderful things you can make with dough
May 30: Cake Factory – creating mini cakes and fondant

Quintbelle Cakes Summer Baking Class for Kids
Where: Quintbelles Kitchen, Dapitan St., Quezon City

Quintbelles Celebration Cakes will hold classes on baking and decorating cakes and cookies.
Basic cupcake class will be conducted from April 23 to May 26, cookie decorating class will be held from April 2 to May 27, and cupcake decorating class from April 25-May 28.  Classes are held 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The cost per class is P900.

Tiny Kitchen Cooking Classes for Kids and Teens
Where: 31 Scout Tobias, Quezon City
 
Tiny Kitchen by Vicky Veloso-Barrera will hold regular five-session courses for kids aged 4 to 6 years old. Classes during the summer are held from March to June, Mondays to Saturdays, with morning (9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.) and afternoon (2:00 to 4:00 p.m.) sessions. Saturday classes are held all year round. Classes cost P7,000 for new students.

A one-day cooking and baking workshop is also available for P1,600 each, inclusive of ingredients, use of aprons, and clean drinking water.

Likhaan Studio Dance Lessons

Junior Museum Guides 2014 by U.P Vargas Museum
Where: University of the Philippines, 1101 Diliman, Quezon City
 
 

In celebration of the 2014 International Museum Day, the U.P Vargas Museum will hold a two-week workshop/training on museum collection. An eight-day workshop will be conducted for kids 8 to 12 years old.

A pre-registration is required until May 8. The workshop is scheduled on May 13 to 16, 20 to 23 (Tuesday to Friday), 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the South Wing Gallery.
