S-List: How to wear bandeau tops

During summer, revealing outfits are the "in" thing to wear because of the extreme heat. This is also why bandeau tops are all the rage right now. “Bandeau” is a French word that means “strip,” thus the revealing nature of this trendy item. The bandeau is very versatile, but not a lot of girls know how to pull off this look. In her latest S-List, “Fashbook” host Solenn Heussaff describes four fashionable yet classy looks that use bandeau tops.

Even if you’re not confident about wearing a bandeau, you can still rock these looks! Just swap the tiny bandeau for slightly less revealing cutoff top. These can make you feel a little more covered up but no less sexy.

FLIRTY FEMININE LOOK
If you’re the very girly type, this is the look for you. Choose a bandeau with floral prints, lacy designs, or soft pastel colors. Another thing you can do is choose a bandeau in a solid color and pair it with high waisted jean shorts or a light colored skirt. If you want to be a little more covered up, grab a blazer in a matching print or color, or a cover up in soft colors or even lace.

COMFY PREPPY LOOK
Start off with a solid colored bandeau. A striped or nautical-inspired one can work too. Pair it with a high waisted A-line skirt or your favorite shorts, and finish the look with flat shoes. If you want to feel a little more covered up, you can wear a sheer top over your bandeau and tuck it into your skirt or shorts.

ROCK CHIC / EDGY LOOK
You can don this look if you really want to stand out. You can wear your tiniest bandeau in a dark color or opt for one embellished with studs or animal print. You can pair this with a structured skirt or dark high waisted shorts. Finish this look with your favorite pair of dark colored heels.

BOHEMIAN LOOK
Choose a bandeau with a colorful print and pair it with a light colored long skirt. You can also do it the other way around, and pair a plain colored bandeau with a long printed skirt.

Solenn’s get-creative tip: Embellish your own bandeaus! Dye them or sew beads or studs on them to make them unique.

Solenn’s wardrobe safety tip: If you’re wearing a bandeau top to a party, it’s important to try moving around in front of a mirror first to see if it moves or falls. If you don’t feel safe in it, sew straps onto them.
