Boses Upos: Or how smoking can result in a hole in your throat

GMA News TV reruns Boses Upos -- an important documentary in the light of debates on the sin tax increase.     In this docu, Howie Severino introduces the audience to people who talk like robots and have holes in their throats – because of smoking.   Emer Rojas, a former radio announcer, suffered his worst nightmare when he contracted cancer of the vocal chords.  The chords had to be surgically removed.  He and others like him now have to breathe through a hole in their throats.    Emer has organized other former chain smokers who lost their vocal chords and sound like robots, to draw attention to the anti-smoking cause. They serve as a dramatic warning to youngsters against starting a dangerous habit.   Boses Upos reairs on GMA News TV this Sunday at 10 PM right after Reel Time.
