Filipino student drowns in New Zealand — DFA

A Filipino student drowned in Northland, New Zealand, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Tuesday.

The 26-year-old victim was identified as Kent Espinosa, who was studying in Auckland.

The DFA said Espinosa was on a school break and was swimming with his friends at Whangarei Falls in Northland when he drowned.

Visa arrangements are being processed by the Philippine Embassy and New Zealand authorities to help the victim's sister to fly to the country and bring home his remains. — BAP, GMA News
