OFW with amnesia repatriated from China seeks help

An OFW suffering from amnesia identified as Richard Soriano Reyes was repatriated from China on March 29, but authorities have yet to find his family.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has asked the public to forward any information on Richard to the Las Piñas General Hospital, where he is staying.

The hospital can be reached at (02) 873-0556 loc. 123.

According to the DFA, Richard suffered a stroke and a brain hemorrhage in 2017 and lost his memory after undergoing surgery and examinations.

He has an arm tattoo of a cross with the name "Amanda" beneath it, but was not able to recall whom it referred to.

He also recalled working as a "DJ" in China for a long time.

In an interview with GMA News' JP Soriano earlier this week, Richard failed to remember the name of any member of his family.

He did, however, respond positively when asked if he lived somewhere in Marikina and a certain Barangay Concepcion Uno.

No records

On Jun Veneracion's update on 24 Oras on Friday, GMA News checked in with Barangay Concepcion Uno but Richard's name did not appear on their database.

There was also no record of him on any of the two Commission on Elections (Comelec) offices in the area. There were also no matches found among any of the persons registered under the name Reyes.

The DFA and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) have begun checking their records but likewise did not find any information on the repatriated OFW so far. —Margaret Claire Layug/LDF, GMA News
