DMW: Thousands of jobs open on board cruise ships

There are now thousands of job orders for various posts in the international cruise ship industry.

According to JP Soriano's report on "24 Oras", the Department of Migrant Workers said cruise ship passengers have increased as ports in different parts of the world have reopened.

The DMW said more Filipino workers were also needed on the ships because there are now fewer Ukrainian seafarers because of the conflict with Russia.

Cruise companies are looking for housekeepers, entertainers, cooks, chefs, plumbers, and welders.

According to DMW Secretary Susan "Toots" Ople, Magsaysay Maritime Corporation are to hire 5,000 cruise ship personnel within the next three months.

Department of Migrant Workers reminded the applicants to only apply to legit recruiters found on the DMW website to avoid scams. —Sherilyn Untalan/NB, GMA News
