Over 400 Filipino priests sing Pinoy Jesuit composition at US national assembly
A church song composed by a Filipino Jesuit priest was sung by more than 400 Filipino priests and bishops at the 5th National Assembly in Northern California of the National Association of Filipino Priests at Mission Dolores in San Francisco, California, USA.
The song “Ama Namin,” which was composed by Fr. Manoling Francisco, SJ, was sung during the Mass for the national gathering of Filipino Priests at the Mission Dolores Basilica in San Francisco, California.
The Bukas Palad Ministry, a group of Catholic volunteers that has recorded numerous praise songs mostly composed by Father Manoling shared the news on social media.
"Did you know? “Ama Namin” and “Sapagkat sa ’Yo ang Kaharian” from the Tinapay Ng Buhay Album were recorded as one continuous piece, without a break! This is also how they're often sung at weddings," the group said.
"The prayer Jesus taught us reminds us that we are all children of one Father, united in love and forgiveness. And wherever we celebrate Mass, even far from home, we pray as one family," they also said.
The moment that the over 400 Filipino priests and bishops sang was posted on the social media account of the Archdiocese of San Francisco. — BAP, GMA News
