GMA Pinoy TV to celebrate PHL Independence Day

Filipinos in Hong Kong and Singapore will have the chance to celebrate the 113th Philippine Independence Day this month with their favorite Kapuso artists, courtesy of GMA Network’s flagship international channel, GMA Pinoy TV. GMA Pinoy TV will bring actress Iza Calzado and actor Dennis Trillo to Hong Kong, and actor Dingdong Dantes and singer-actress Rachelle Ann Go to Singapore this weekend, June 11 and 12. On June 11, "Andres De Saya" female lead Calzado and "Sinner or Saint" actor Trillo will hold an Independence Day celebration with with the Philippine Association of Hong Kong (PAHK), which will also mark its 50th anniversary. The two milestones will be marked by PAHK with a gala dinner and ball at the Conrad Hotel in Hong Kong. On June 12, Calzado and Trillo will provide the entertainment as the Chater Garden as the Philippine Independence Day Organizing Committee (PIDOC) hosts “Lakbay Ng Kalayaan," a whole-day celebration where there will be cultural performances, games, and other activities for Filipino workers in the area. Celebration in Singapore Meanwhile, award-winning Kapuso star Dingdong Dantes and Party Pilipinas mainstay Rachelle Ann Go will join the Grand Fiesta 2011, the “Pinoy, Malaya at Responsableng Bagong Bayani," at the Hong Lim Park in Singapore on June 12. Led by the Pilipino Independence Day Council Singapore (PIDCS), the fiesta will feature a "lunch-and-learn session," “Power Lunch," where distinguished Filipinos will share insights with the Pinoy community. There will be literary and photography contests and cultural activities. GMA Pinoy TV subscribers in Hong Kong and Singapore will also have the opportunity to meet and greet these Kapuso stars at the GMA Pinoy TV booths where treats and premium items await them. “It is a unique opportunity for us to celebrate the Philippine Independence Day with our Kapuso viewers in other parts of the region through these events," said Joseph T.
