PHL pearls, handicrafts featured in Czech Republic bazaar
Philippine pearls and handicrafts were featured in a recent diplomatic bazaar in the Czech Republic in Europe, the Philippine Embassy in Prague said over the weekend. The Embassy reported to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) that the diplomatic bazaar was held last November 13 at the Hilton Hotel in Prague. "Czech and hotel guests queued in line and 'squeezed in' to get hold of the popular pearls that shimmered in the Philippine Embassy's corner, a favorite booth in the bazaar," it said. At least 55 embassies and other non-governmental organizations participated in the bazaar, which showcased many countries' handicrafts, clothing, electronics, beauty products, household goods, food and beverages. Every year, the Philippine booth displays fresh water pearls that are sold at affordable prices. For this year, south sea pearls and Philippine handicraft such as capiz and wooden candle holders were sold as well. The proceeds of the Bazaar are given to a charitable institution selected by the organizer of the bazaar, the Diplomatic Spouses Association. - VVP, GMA News
