DFA: 12 more Pinoys from troubled Syria to arrive Thursday
Twelve more overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from troubled Syria will arrive in the Philippines on Thursday afternoon, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said. DFA spokesman Raul Hernandez said 12 women expected to arrive within the day have availed of the Philippine government's repatriation efforts, radio dzBB reported. The repatriated OFWs are expected to arrive at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 4:15 p.m. This would bring to 973 the number of Filipinos repatriated from Syria. On December 22 last year, the DFA raised crisis alert level 4 in Syria and has since asked Filipinos there to go home because of the escalating tensions there.
