Fil-Am actor Roshon Fegan to join 'Dancing with the Stars'
Half Filipino, half African-American Roshon Fegan, a singer and actor in the United States, is set to become the youngest contender so far in the famous US television show "Dancing With The Stars" (DWTS). A report of the news site Asian Journal said 20-year-old Fegan will be competing in the 14th season of DWTS along with tennis legend Martina Navratilova, NFL wide receiver Donald Driver, former young actor Jaleel White, Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert and country singer Gavin DeGraw. The new season of DWTS will premiere on March 19. Fegan will be dancing with Chelsie Hightower, who has been with the show for six seasons. Fegan currently stars on Disney Channel’s television show "Shake It Up!" as Ty Blue. According to the movie site IMDB.com, Fegan also appeared in movies such as "Spiderman 2," "Camp Rock," and "Camp Rock 2." The actor's personal website said Fegan is also the chief executive officer of his own record label, 3inaRo. “The company name, 3-in-a-Ro represents Roshon as a triple threat; multitalented artist, actor and seasoned dancer,” the site said. At the age of four, Fegan “embarked on a search to find an outlet to release his energy and channel his artistic expression… With an African American and Filipino upbringing, Ro has a unique ear for creating music that is universally appealing by fusing hip-hop/R&B, funk, pop and dance,” it said. On the Asian Journal report, Fegan revealed that he was very excited to be part of the show. “I know I am prepared for the challenge. I am walking into a whole new realm. My partner is very nice. It should be fun,” he told the Asian Journal. Fegan said Filipinos are already known for being good at singing and performing in theater. "Now, we are also showing people that we know how to dance,” he said. Confessing to be a lola’s boy, Fegan said he enjoys hanging out with his grandmother. To his Filipino fans, Fegan told the Asian Journal: “Thanks for all the love. I can’t wait to visit the Philippines because it is a big part of me and my heritage. I have a lot of family there.” Tweets about Roshon Fegan
