Fil-Am graphics designer to launch shirts, pins for Hard Rock Hotel
Another Fil-Am graphics designer and musician in the United States will launch in mid-April a line of t-shirts and pins for Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas, the new site Asian Journal reported. Albert “OH” Ochosa, born in Oxnard, California, will introduce the “Under a Different Sun” line of t-shirts and pins on April 18, Asian Journal said. On his website, Ochosa said the launching ceremony will be held at 6:00 p.m. "inside the new Hard Rock Store at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino on 4455 Paradise Rd, Las Vegas." Ochosa said: “They are my love letters to the Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas, its heritage and the music that has served as the soundtrack to my life.” “My hope is to reconnect the Hard Rock’s founding culture into the merchandise, while communicating and connecting the universal emotions of music to move the person that dons the t-shirts. Like the memorablia lined walls, each piece of my collection has a personal story printed inside,” Ochosa added. Ochosa's merchandise is said to be the first signature product designer launched by the posh hotel. “It’s more about launching culture than merchandise,” Ochosa told the Asian Journal. Ochosa attended The Art Institute of Seattle for a multimedia course. He later moved to the bay area of San Francisco to work for several advertising agencies. In 2005, Ochosa was recommended by a friend to design different collectible concert posters for Hard Rock Hotel. He now has clients worldwide that include famous celebrities. Ochosa’s father was a naval officer who was born in Malate, Manila. On the other hand, his mother, an analyst, was from Antipolo City in Rizal. In his interview with the Asian Journal, Ochosa attributed his love for rock music to his father. He said when his father introduced him to rock and roll, it "pretty much changed my life.” Ochosa dedicated his new merchandise line’s “Analog” pins to his dad, whom he said "amassed a big record and reel to reel collection of music." His mother, on the other hand, influenced him to become a philanthropist, one of the many hats he wears aside from being a graphic designer and musician, said in his website that his mother influenced his latest addition to his many hats – a philantrophist. In 2009 and 2010, Albert has been active in various charity activities such as raising money for a cancer-ridden friend, and designing a logo for a charity group that restores musical instruments for kids. - with Rouchelle Dinglasan, VVP, GMA News
