Shocking confession: Catholic priest in Australia admits having Pinay wife

Father Kevin Lee, a Catholic priest in Australia, has made a shocking confession: he has been married to a Filipina named Josephina for a year now, Yahoo! Australia's 7News said. Lee, a priest for 20 years in Glenmore Park, Sydney, said he met his Josephina in the Philippines, fell in love and "got married and it's outside of most people's awareness, but I'm sure people within the Church could have had a suspicion." According to Yahoo, Lee chose to make a public admission because he pitied “sacrificing" priests who were denying themselves a relationship. Lee was removed from his position as parish priest of the Padre Pio parish in Glenmore and has been excommunicated by the Catholic Church.   Lee also said: "I think they need to admit they are not being led properly. I think celibacy has to go as a prerequisite for being a minister in the Catholic religion." Yahoo said Lee intends to write a book urging for the abolition of celibacy and exposing "what he believes is the wider wrongdoing of fellow priests."   In a statement, Bishop Anthony Fisher, the head of the diocese, denied Lee's claim that most priests live double lives.   “As Father Kevin is aware, by his actions he can no longer operate as a priest,” Fisher said. Fisher said he will immediately appoint an administrator to Padre Pio parish. - VVP, GMA News
