Pinoy teacher in New York charged for sex with 16-year-old student

A substitute teacher in Suffolk County in Long Island, N.Y. was arrested last Tuesday on charges that he had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old student. Allan Concepcion, 38, was arrested at his home in Mount Sinai last Tuesday morning, police said. Concepcion is a substitute teacher and the junior volleyball coach at Eastport South Manor High School, police said. He is also an assistant coach with the Long Island Fury volleyball team, and has worked as a gymnastics coach at the Hampton Bays Middle School, police said. Concepcion was charged with third-degree rape and endangering the welfare of a child. He pleaded not guilty in a Central Islip courtroom last Wednesday. His bail was set at $5,000 cash or $15,000 bond, and he was ordered to sign an order of protection. The police did not indicate whether the alleged victim was a boy or a girl. - Filipino Reporter
