DOLE sets up e-registration site for prospective OFWs

Filipinos seeking jobs abroad can now get help from an online registry set up by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz said the prospective overseas Filipino workers can register and set up their accounts at www.eregister.poea.gov.ph.
"If you are looking for overseas employment, let the POEA Online registration be your first step. The registration is free and easy. It is accessible anywhere and anytime," Baldoz said in a news release.

Applicants who register should provide information such as personal data, education, work experience, job preference, skills, and language ability.

They also have to indicate their country and worksite preference, and attach a scanned passport size photo in .jpg format. The file size must not exceed 15K.
Information gathered in the site will be shared with foreign employers in response to their manpower requirements, the Labor Department said.

"The POEA may use the applicants’ contact information in order to send them e-mail or other communications regarding updates of their application at the POEA. The nature and frequency of these messages will vary depending upon the application status of the applicants," it added.

Applicants who had already registered at the POEA and its  branch offices can log on to access and update their profiles, or view the status of their applications.

But registered applicants must keep their e-registration system active by updating their profile at least once every six months.

"The e-registration system routinely archives registration accounts if not accessed for more than six months," the Labor Department said.

Interested applicants who have questions about the system may email poea_employmentbranch@yahoo.com. - VVP, GMA News
