DFA NCR office closed due to Galleria mall fire
Consular operations at the Department of Foreign Affairs' Metro Manila central office at the Robinsons Galleria were suspended Wednesday due to a fire that hit the mall Tuesday night.
The DFA and the management of Robinsons Galleria are taking "appropriate measures" to resume services soonest, the DFA said in an advisory.
"Release of passport in DFA NCR-Central is temporarily suspended until further notice," it added.
A fire hit the mall Tuesday night and was put out shortly before 6 a.m. Wednesday.
"The DFA, in cooperation with the management of Robinsons Galleria, is now taking appropriate measures so that DFA NCR-Central resumes operations in the soonest possible time," the DFA said.
In the meantime, the DFA advised passport applicants who have scheduled appointments at DFA NCR-Central to apply for passports at:
- DFA NCR-East (seventh floor, SM Megamall Building C, Edsa cor. J. Vargas Avenue, Mandaluyong City)
- DFA Aseana (Bradco corner Macapagal Boulevard, Parañaque City)
"Applicants need only to show proof of appointment scheduled today to be accommodated at the consular offices above," it said.
