Pinoy students' short film wins award in South Korea

In span of two days, a group of Filipino scholars in South Korea conceptualized, shot and finished a short film that bagged an award in The 48 Hour Film Project.

The group's film, titled “Watching Over,” tells the story of a girl who meets an unlikely super hero, according to a report on GMA's “News to Go” on Thursday.

The group, Pinoy Iskolars sa Korea (PIKO), was the only Filipino student group that joined the film event, the report said. They competed against 32 contestants from other countries.

With the success of “Watching Over,” the group is now planning to join film festivals in the United States.

PIKO is a Filipino student group based in Seoul that was founded in 2006. It aims to instill to the Filipino student population in Korea strong values like love for the human community, environment and God.  — Andrei Medina/KBK, GMA News
