Pinoy worker found hanging in UAE airport
A Filipino worker's body was found hanging from the ceiling of his workplace at the Fujairah International Airport in the United Arab Emirates last Saturday, a UAE news site reported Tuesday.
Fujairah police investigators said the incident was a case of suicide, according to the report on Gulf News.
The report quoted Brigadier Mohammad Ahmad Bin Ganem Al Ka’abi, commander-in-chief of Fujairah Police, as saying the Filipino is in his 30s and an airport employee working in a service division at the food distribution section.
Al Ka’abi said their preliminary investigation ruled out criminal activity, and that the victim took his own life due to family disputes.
He added the worker's body was transferred to Al Fujairah Hospital for an autopsy and legal procedures.
Investigation showed the man hanged himself with a rope secured to the office ceiling. Al Ka’abi added the man was dead by the time officers reached the area.
Gulf News quoted a source at the airport who said the Filipino was a “nice man.” It added his co-workers were shocked and saddened over his death. — KBK, GMA News
