Three members of Philippine Military Academy's Siklab Diwa Class of 2014 will be sent to Australia for military training under scholarships awarded to them by the Australian government.

Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Bill Tweddell presented the 2014 Australian Defence Force Award for Best Overall Performance to Cadets First Class Jheorge Llona, Liza Dango and Leonora Paulino in awarding ceremonies in Baguio City on Saturday.

“I am pleased to present this year’s scholarships to future leaders of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, as it underscores the long-standing defense partnership between Australia and the Philippines,” Tweddell said.

Llona is the top cadet of “Siklab Diwa Class of 2014” while Dango ranks second and is the only woman in the top ten graduates.

Llona, Dango and Paulino will join the Philippine Air Force, Philippine Army and Philippine Navy respectively.

Awardees were selected based on their overall performance in Service-oriented and English subjects during their cadetship in the PMA, the Australian embassy said in a statement.
