Pinay college student killed in hit-and-run in Malaysia
A Filipina college student was killed after figuring in a hit-and-run incident in Malaysia at midnight Tuesday, a Malaysian news site reported Wednesday afternoon.
Johor Baru (South) police Assistant Commissioner Sulaiman Salleh said the hit-and-run occurred at KM 4.6 Jalan Johor Baru-Kota Tinggi around midnight, Malaysia's The Star Online reported.
The victim was 27 years old and lived at the Tanjung Puteri Condominium in Stulang Laut, the report said.
"We believe that a car hit the Olympia College student and sped off without stopping," Sulaiman said in the report, adding police have informed her relatives of the incident.
GMA News Online is withholding the name of the victim pending confirmation from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), which said it is still verifying the report from the Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. —Joel Locsin/KBK, GMA News
