Want a dinner and a show? Dine with this Pinoy chef in London
Theatricality and a knack for cooking are some of the traits Filipinos are known for overseas, though both talents are rarely featured at the same time.
Yet Charles Miguel, a Filipino chef in London, manages to give his audience a chuckle as they dine beside his teppanyaki grill.
GMA News' "Unang Balita" featured the chef flicking shrimps and setting food on gourmet-approved fire at Benihana Piccadilly-London.
In the report, Miguel was seen flipping his cooking utensils, tossing them up with his skillets and popping them onto his red chef's hat.
Reviews on OpenTable, a dining reservation site, has praised both Miguel's performance, describing it as family- and kid-friendly, and his palatable food.
"The chef, Charlie, was AMAZING! Very entertaining and engaging performance," wrote one reviewer.
Another wrote, "Our chef Charlie was a darling - he's ready made for showbiz."
Mentioning his nationality, one other reviewer said the Miguel's performance made their dinner "extra special" and made their visit a unique treat. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
