UAE army corporal gets 7 years for raping, having ‘bizarre sex’ with Pinay

A United Arab Emirates army corporal was sentenced to seven years in jail on Monday after he was found him guilty of raping a Filipina maid in November 2013.

During the trial at the Dubai Court of First Instance, the Filipina testified that her sponsor (the corporal) arrived home at 3 p.m. and directly handed her his dress uniform for washing, news site Gulf News reported.

"When he learnt that there was nobody at home, the defendant pulled me and forced me into his bedroom. He pinned me down to the floor, removed my clothes and had sex with me. He also had bizarre sex with me. Once he finished, he went to the bathroom to wash, so I rushed to my bedroom and locked myself inside. He came and repeatedly knocked on the door... but I did not answer," she related.

The corporal then apologized in English, but she asked him to leave her alone. She rushed out of the house and ran to the Philippine consulate once he left.

Consulate staff then referred the woman to the recruitment agency that flew her to Dubai.

The corporal, meanwhile, insisted he was innocent. His lawyer also told presiding judge Ezzat Abdul Lat that the Filipina exchanged phone calls and SMS messages with the corporal, and that she was the one who invited him to her room.

"She tried to extort money from him when she complained. She blackmailed him and asked for money to waive her accusation,” the lawyer claimed.

According to court records, the Filipina guided authorities to her sponsor’s house in Oud Al Mutainah, where the defendant refused to open the door.

Police eventually obtained the prosecutors’ permission to arrest the defendant, and a police officer went over the villa’s wall and opened the door from the inside.

"We examined the bedroom where the incident happened. The accused was taken into custody and admitted during questioning that he had sex with the housemaid,” the police officer testified. — Joel Locsin/DVM, GMA News
