Woman believed to be Pinay strips naked in HK

A woman believed to be Filipina recently caused a commotion at a Mongkok Mass Transit Railway (MTR) station in Hong Kong after she stripped to her underwear for still unknown reasons.

The alleged Filipina, identified as “Liza,” blocked an ATM and prevented people from using it, according to a report on Shanghaiist, translating from the Apple Daily.

A video of the incident was posted on Apple Daily. It showed the topless woman strolling back and forth in front of a row of ATMs. At one point, she spread her arms and screamed something before backpedalling into an ATM user. She then pushed the user away and refused to let him retrieve his card, which was stuck in the machine.

Officials eventually surrounded the woman and tried to persuade her into donning a jacket. They succeeded in asking her to cover up with a towel before bringing her in for a medical examination.

The Filipina's stunt quickly became viral, with Vietnamese news site Dat Viet picking up the Shanghaiist news report.

Her antics were even used in a political smear campaign in Indonesia. According to a report on Merdeka, a netizen uploaded pictures of the woman on Facebook and made it out as a form of protest against President-elect Joko “Jokowi” Widodo.

The pictures incited a torrent of comments before it was revealed that they had nothing to do with the presidential elections in Indonesia. —Rie Takumi/KBK, GMA News
