Pinay maid in UAE charged with adultery after giving birth to twins in sponsor’s house

After giving birth to twins inside her sponsor's house in Sharjah last week, a Filipina maid in the United Arab Emirates now finds herself charged with adultery, an online news site reported.

The Filipina, her babies and suspected partner were placed under police custody, according to a report on UAE news site Gulf News.

 

On Sunday, the Sharjah public prosecution started its interrogation of the housemaid, 35, who gave birth to the twin girls in her sponsor's house at Al Nouf last Thursday.

 

Quoting a Sharjah police official, the report said the woman was taken to the Al Gharb police station.

 

Investigators are verifying information the maid became pregnant due to an affair with a Bangladeshi worker at a neighboring house. The worker was also charged with adultery, the same online report said.

 

The housemaid's employer was surprised that she failed to carry out her morning duties last Thursday. The duties included preparing breakfast for her employer’s children before they went to school.

 

The Emirati employer's family found the maid lying in the bathroom of their adjacent house after giving birth. They reported the incident to the police.

 

While the Filipina and her twins were rushed to Al Qasimi hospital, police arrested her suspected partner who was allegedly planning to flee the country. — Joel Locsin/RSJ, GMA News
