Indian worker jailed for groping Pinay in UAE – report

A United Arab Emirates court has sentenced an Indian worker to three months in jail for groping a Filipina administrative assistant who was shopping at a mall in Dubai.

 

The Indian, 34, admitted walking behind the Filipina between the aisles and groping her when she bend over to pick some goods, Gulf News reported late Thursday.

 

“Yes, I am guilty I groped her backside,” the Gulf News article quoted the suspect as telling the Dubai Court of First Instance.

 

Under the primary ruling, the Indian will be deported after serving the punishment.

 

Prosecution records showed the Filipina, 37, was picking some goods from the hypermarket when she felt the defendant touching her backside with his palm.

 

"Then I heard someone shout and the security guard at the mall got hold of the defendant,” she said.

 

A policeman dispatched to the mall’s police office to check what happened said he was told the Indian molested the Filipina and touched her.

 

"The shopper was walking between two aisles when the accused came from behind and groped her,” said the policeman.

 

Meanwhile, the ruling became final since the Indian he did not appeal. — Joel Locsin/RSJ, GMA News
