PHL embassy in Saudi to start iRehistro form submission May 7

Starting Thursday, May 7, Filipinos in Saudi Arabia may have an easier time registering for the 2016 elections when the Philippine embassy in Riyadh launches its iRehistro online application form submission.

The embassy said iRehistro lets overseas Filipino workers accomplish the Voters Registration Application Form before going to the embassy or consulate.

“The aim of the project is to lessen the time of the registrants when applying for voter’s registration. The applicant must present the printed accomplished form to the OV Operator and have their biometrics taken to complete the registration process,” it said.

OFWs can access iRehistro by logging on to www.irehistro.com and clicking on the link “for Overseas Filipinos,” and following the on-screen instructions.

They can print the accomplished application form but should not sign it yet. They can then select an appointment date for biometrics capture.

“For passport renewal applicants, the Embassy recommends to initially complete the passport renewal scheduling to determine the date and time of appointment for OV Registration. If time of schedule for OV Registration is not pre-determined, the applicant can proceed to the Embassy for consular services. Just present and the printed accomplished online registration form to the OV Operator,” the embassy said.

However, the embassy clarified the iRehistro online application alone does not confirm their registration.

“Applicants still have to appear personally at the Philippine Embassy to complete the registration process,” it said.

It also said the current procedure of manual Overseas Voting Registration is still being implemented at the Embassy.
