Marilou Danley’s sis: She was sent away to avoid interfering in Vegas shooting
A sister of Marilou Danley, 62, the Filipino-Australian girlfriend of the man responsible for the mass shooting in Las Vegas, claimed her sibling was sent away to avoid interfering in her boyfriend's plans.
"I know she didn't do anything as well, like us. She was sent away so that she will be not there to interfere in his planning," said one of Danley's sisters in a report by Katrina Son on Balita Pilipinas on Thursday.
Gunman Stephen Paddock's girlfriend left the Philippines for the United States on Wednesday to cooperate with authorities despite Las Vegas Police clearing her of charges as she was out of the country when the incident happened.
Paddock gave Danley a ticket to the Philippines so she could visit her family. He also supposedly gave her money to buy a home for her and her family.
Through her representative, lawyer Matthew Lombard, Danley said she knew nothing about her boyfriend's plans to strafe an outdoor music festival along the Las Vegas Strip.
"'I know Stephen Paddock as a kind, caring, quiet man. I loved him and hoped for a quiet future ahead of him," Lombard read.
"'He never said anything to me or took any action that I was aware of, that I understood in any way, to be a warning that something horrible like this was going to happen '," he continued.
Police have yet to determine a possible motive behind Paddock's 11-minute shooting straight into a music festival from his room at the Mandalay Bay hotel. — Rie Takumi/MDM, GMA News
