PHL bet killed in Thailand motorbike competition
A 16-year-old Filipino athlete was killed in an accident during an international motorbike race in Thailand, according to Emil Sumangil's report on 24 Oras on Sunday.
Amber Torres represented the country in Asia Road Racing Championship in Buriram, Thailand on December 5.
The teenager started good in the race until he fell off his motorcycle in the third lap. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he later died.
“Sobrang mabuting anak at mabuting tao sa mga kaibigan, sa pamilya,” Amber's father Mitchelle Torres said of him. “Hindi ko ma-imagine na ganun ‘yung mangyayari sa lahat ng hirap namin biglang tatlong araw wala na.”
Before his death, Amber was scheduled to join more than five racing competitions in different countries next year. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA News
