Philippine Embassy in Spain announces death of Madrid community leader

The Philippine Embassy in Spain has extended its condolences to the family of community leader, Nerissa Lacuin.

Lacuin was the president of the Barrio Fiesta Association and the Asociación de los Mindoreños en Madrid.

She is known as "Ate Nery," and is recognized as one of the leaders of the Filipino community in Madrid, who served openheartedly and sincerely to promote unity among Filipinos.

"Naipakita nya ang kanyang taos-pusong pakikibahagi ng kanyang sarili at pagmamalasakit sa kapwa Pilipino sa iba't-ibang kaganapan na inorganisa ng Barrio Fiesta Association dito sa Madrid at sa pagsuportang ipinamalas niya sa mga aktibidad ng Embahada."

"Ang kanyang pamumuno, kabaitan, at pakikipagkaibigan ay mananatili sa ating isipan."
