3 more Pinoys abroad die of COVID-19; cases now at 1,751
Three more Filipinos abroad have succumbed to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the death toll to 210 as total infections rose to 1,751 with 10 new cases, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Sunday.
Of the confirmed cases, 1,070 are undergoing treatment while 471 have already recovered from the respiratory illness.
Europe has the highest number of COVID-19-positive Filipinos at 522 with 70 deaths and 120 recoveries.
In the Americas, 488 cases have been recorded with 120 deaths and 121 recoveries.
In the Asia Pacific region, 373 Filipinos have contracted the virus while two have died and 208 have recovered.
The Middle East/Africa region has the least number of Filipino COVID-19 infections at 368 with 18 deaths and 22 recoveries.
“The DFA personnel in our foreign service posts remain committed to tirelessly attending to the needs of our people affected by this pandemic, whenever possible,” the department said on Twitter. — DVM, GMA News
