No Filipinos in Morocco infected with COVID-19 –official

The Philippines’ foreign service post in Morocco has not recorded a single case of a Filipino who contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), an official said Tuesday.

“We have not received a report na may Pilipino na nagkasakit ng COVID,” Consul General Agnes Cervantes said in a televised briefing, adding Morocco had imposed confinement measures to curb the spread of the virus.

However, Cervantes said a small number of migrant Filipino workers displaced by the pandemic have expressed plans to return to the Philippines.

“They have been asking us for help so that they can be repatriated to the Philippines,” she said.
