DFA: Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 8,417 with 56 new cases


The number of Filipinos abroad with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) climbed to 8,417 on Friday with 56 new cases, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).

Five more patients have also recovered from the illness, bringing the total to 5,081, while the death toll rose to 536 with 23 new fatalities.

As of June 26, there are 2,800 patients still undergoing treatment.

 

Data from the DFA showed a total of 595 cases in the Asia Pacific Region with 82 patients undergoing treatment. Total recoveries in the region rose to 511 with three new ones while fatalities remained at two.

In the Middle East or Africa, there were a total of 6,167 cases with 2,114 patients undergoing treatment. Two more recoveries in the region brought the total to 3,777 while fatalities rose to 276 with 23 new ones.

No new cases were reported in Europe. Total cases remained at 970 with 456 patients undergoing treatment, 420 recoveries, and 94 fatalities.

The Americas also reported no new cases with the total remaining at 685, patients undergoing treatment at 148, recoveries at 373, and fatalities at 164. —LDF, GMA News
