1 new COVID-19 case, 26 new recoveries among Filipinos abroad –DFA
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Sunday announced one new case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and 26 new recoveries among overseas Filipinos.
This brings the total to 9,984 COVID-19 cases with 5,953 recoveries and 733 deaths.
The Middle East/Africa region still has the highest number of overseas Filipinos with COVID-19 at 6,927, including 4,151 recoveries and 452 deaths.
In Europe, 1,158 Filipino COVID-19 cases have been recorded with 618 recoveries and 95 deaths.
A total of 1,107 overseas Filipinos in the Asia Pacific region have contracted COVID-19, 730 of whom have recovered while eight have died.
The Americas, meanwhile, logged 792 Filipino COVID-19 patients, including 454 recoveries and 178 deaths.
“With 9,505 overseas Filipinos repatriated this week, the DFA reports a total of 144,795 Filipinos repatriated since the COVID-19 outbreak since February 2020,” the department added. — DVM, GMA News
