Malaysian charged over 2019 Singapore car accident that killed two Filipinas

The 64-year-old man involved in last year's car accident at a Lucky Plaza mall in Singapore that killed two Filipina domestic workers and injured four others has been charged.

A report on the Straits Times said Malaysian Chong Kim Hoe is facing three charges for dangerous driving and his bail was set at $15,000.

At around 5 p.m. of December 29 last year, Chong, a Singapore permanent resident, was driving along Nutmeg Road behind the Orchard Road shopping mall when he tapped into his vehicle's accelerator while making a U-turn.

The car then rammed into a metal railing and landed on the side road next to Lucky Plaza, hitting Abigail Danao Leste, 41, and Arlyn Picar Nucos, 50.

The two died in the accident while four other Filipino women were injured, two of them had to be placed in intensive care unit (ICU).
