55 more Filipinos abroad recover from COVID-19; cases rise to 10,113


The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Friday announced that 55 more Filipinos abroad recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the total to 6,275.

According to the DFA, the number of confirmed cases also rose to 10,113 with 18 new infections. Also, two previously confirmed cases were removed from today’s figures.

Meanwhile, the death toll remained at 757.

At present, there are 3,081 Filipinos abroad undergoing treatment.

Data from the DFA showed a total of 1,172 cases in the Asia and the Pacific region with 312 patients undergoing treatment. The region has reported a total of 852 recoveries and eight fatalities.

In the Middle East or Africa, there are 6,975 cases. Of this, 2,335 patients are undergoing treatment, 4,164 have recovered, and eight have died.

Europe, meanwhile, has 1,168 cases with 269 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 804 patients have recovered in the region while 95 have succumbed to the illness.

Meanwhile, there are a total of 798 cases in the Americas with 165 patients undergoing treatment, 455 recoveries, and 178 fatalities. — DVM, GMA News
