4 more Filipinos abroad succumb to COVID-19 —DFA
Four more Filipinos abroad have succumbed to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), bringing the death toll to 790, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
The DFA also announced that the number of total cases rose to 10,433 with three new infections while nine more recoveries brought the total to 6,654.
“Compared to last week’s percentages, the total number of recoveries and deaths due to COVID-19 among our nationals increased slightly to 63.78 percent and 7.57 percent, respectively,” the DFA said.
At present, there are 2,989 Filipino nationals still undergoing treatment.
“[Meanwhile], those under treatment decreased to 28.65 percent,” it added.

Based on data from the DFA, there are 1,372 cases in Asia and the Pacific region with 314 patients undergoing treatment. A total of 1,050 patients in the region have recovered while eight have died.
In the Middle East or Africa, there are 7,074 COVID-19 cases. Among this, 2,317 are patients undergoing treatment, 4,248 have recovered, and 509 have succumbed to the illness.
?Meanwhile, Europe has reported a total of 1,179 cases with 192 patients undergoing treatment, 892 recoveries, and 95 fatalities.
There are also a total of 808 cases reported in the Americas. The region has reported 166 patients undergoing treatment while 464 have recovered and 178 have died. -MDM, GMA News
