DFA: Filipinos abroad with COVID-19 now at 11,567
The number of Filipinos abroad who have tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) rose to 11,567 on Tuesday with seven new infections, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
Meanwhile, nine more Filipino nationals have recovered from the illness, bringing the total tally to 7,487, while the death toll remained at 834.
At present, there are 3,246 patients still undergoing treatment.
Data from the DFA showed a total of 1,894 cases in Asia and the Pacific region with 563 patients still undergoing treatment. Recoveries and fatalities in the region were recorded at 1,322 and nine, respectively.
A total of 7,530 cases were also recorded in the Middle East or Africa. Among this, 2,329 patients were still undergoing treatment while 4,652 have recovered and 549 have died.
Europe has recorded 1,313 cases with 223 patients undergoing treatment. The region has recorded 993 recoveries and 97 fatalities.
Meanwhile, a total of 830 cases were recorded in the Americas, of which 131 were undergoing treatment, 520 have recovered, and 179 have died. — Joahna Lei Casilao/BM, GMA News
