Filipino in Asia-Pacific Region tests positive for COVID-19 –DFA
The Foreign Affairs Department reported on Saturday that a Filipino in the Asia-Pacific Region contracted COVID-19, even as five other Pinoys in the region recovered from the illness.
With this new case and recoveries, total COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad rose to 11,671, with recoveries at 7,564.
While there were 3,261 cases undergoing treatment for the illness, the death toll remained at 846.
Among the regions, total COVID-19 cases in the Asia Pacific rose to 1,947 because of the single new case, with 561 Filipinos undergoing treatment.
In the Middle East/Africa Region, there were 7,544 cases with 2,334 patients undergoing treatment; 4,657 recoveries; and 553 fatalities.
Among Filipinos in Europe, there were 1,413 total COVID-19 cases. Among these, 307 were undergoing treatment; 1,010 had recovered; while 96 had unfortunately succumbed to the illness.
Total COVID-19 cases among Filipinos in the Americas stood at 767, with 59 undergoing treatment, 520 recoveries, and 188 fatalities. — DVM, GMA News
