DFA reports 11 new COVID-19 cases among Pinoys abroad


The Department of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday reported 11 new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) among Filipinos overseas, bringing the total tally to 18,629.

Latest data from the DFA showed that total recoveries also increased to 11,375 after one more patient defeated the respiratory illness.

The death toll rose to 1,163 with two new fatalities.

So far, there are 6,091 patients undergoing treatment.

The Middle East/Africa remained to be the region with the most number of confirmed COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad at 10,467 with 760 deaths and 5,913 recoveries.

The Asia Pacific Region followed with 3,785 infections including 31 fatalities and 2,517 recoveries.

In Europe, a total of 3,394 Filipinos were infected with the virus, of whom 130 have died, while 2,320 have recovered.

The Americas, meanwhile, have recorded 983 cases with 243 fatalities and 625 recoveries. — Ma. Angelica Garcia/BM, GMA News
